1945-1991
Creation of the Poral brand
The history of the Poral brand began in the 1940s. Over the decades, the company grew to become a major player in the powder metallurgy industry in Europe.
Several parts were subsequently produced under different brand names, including Poral sintered porous elements.
1991
Usinor and Pechiney enter the scene.
The Usinor and Pechiney groups merge their industrial metal powder businesses, Metafram Fritted Alloys (with the Metafram and Poral brands) with Oloron Frittage. The name Sintertech is then created (SINTERing TECHnology).
1996
Sintertech acquired
British component manufacturer T&N acquires Sintertech.
1998
Acquisition by Federal Mogul
In 1998, the American group Federal Mogul acquired Sintertech from T&N. The company then took the name Federal Mogul and continued its sintering activities.
2013
TM France in play
In 2013, Federal Mogul sold the Sintertech portion to TM France, which renamed the company Sintertech SAS, in order to return to its name that made it known.
2019
An acquisition that has enabled us to grow
In 2019, the company was acquired by Laurent Pelissier’s investment company LPF (CEO of ECM Technologies). It was renamed Poral and markets four brands (Metafram, Metagliss, Poral, and Oloron Frittage).
2024
ECM components and integration into the ECM group
Finally, in 2024, Poral is separated from the other brands, and integrate the company ECM Components with the brands Flowlink and Kemstream. ECM Components is part of the ECM group, creating a real synergy of expertise between its different companies.
